Allow me to introduce myself.
I'm Carleigh, your wedding and lifestyle photographer.
Hey friend!
I want you to be able to show up to your shoot feeling like you know more about me than I do about you. How can I expect you to feel like your comfortable self in front of my camera if I don't let you in on my life first?
So hey, here we go.
I first picked up my mom's point-and-shoot camera as a little girl. At fourteen years old, I saved up what would have been enough money for my first phone, but instead I decided to get my first camera. I've been growing as a photographer ever since.
Some of my hobbies - other than photography - include piano, house plants, going for drives just to get out of the house, and the occasional bubble tea from my favourite tea shop in Waterloo. I like to think of myself as an extrovert, but if I'm being honest - I can be shy too!
I've been getting back into reading lately, and some of my half-read books at the moment are "Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World" by Cal Newport, "Simplify: Ten Practices to Unclutter Your Soul" by Bill Hybels, and "Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers" by Dane Ortlund. I love a good thrifted book, but I often forget to actually sit down and read it. I usually spend my reading time in my bible, when I get around to it. I'd be lying if I said my business is where it is today without God's help. He's not only my favourite coworker, but also my heavenly Father. I'm grateful for the work he's done in me and will continue to do the more I seek him. My hope is that, through this passion he's given me, I can give every bit of glory back to him.
Well this is getting deep, you're probably thinking.
You're not wrong. But I like to think that by putting myself out there for you, you'll be able to do the same thing for me and for your photos. So hey, now that we're friends, I'm going to let you in on a little secret: the best photos are almost always the last ones we'll take at our session. Instead of starting off as strangers, Iet's connect! Now that you know me, I want to get to know you too.
Let's collaborate
This is an opportunity for us to create something beautiful and meaningful together.
